| Tour | Families and groups |
|---|---|
| Covered catamaran | Jr. Naturalist guide and colouring book for children; strollers not allowed |
| Large zodiac | Orca Ranger activity book and a badge; a paid shuttle from downtown hotels |
| Open-air catamaran | Not recommended for children under 3, pregnant women or wheelchair users |
The photo package
The covered catamaran includes photos of the wildlife and of you and your group. That means everyone in the party can be in a picture, and nobody has to hold the phone. Look up from the screen at least once, because a sighting is better seen than framed.
Children
The covered catamaran gives younger passengers a Jr. Naturalist guide with an educational colouring book. The Richmond tour has an Orca Ranger activity book and a special badge. Both give children something to do between sightings, which matters on a trip that lasts three to five hours.
Strollers and small children
Baby strollers are not allowed on the covered catamaran, so plan for a carrier. The open-air tour does not recommend children under 3 and excludes non-folding strollers. If you are travelling with a baby, call the operator before you book.
Groups
A group of any size can book the same sailing by choosing the same date and time on the booking page. Check availability for the number in your party before you commit, because popular sailings sell out.
Languages
The live guide speaks English, and downloadable guides for the covered catamaran come in Spanish, French, German and Dutch. That helps with mixed-language parties, because everyone can read along at their own pace while the crew talks.
Tips and cancelling
Tips to the guide and tour host are optional on the covered catamaran. You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund, which helps when a group is still agreeing on a date.
